Beard begins 2023 campaign at Wild West Shootout
Kyle Beard began his 2023 season on Saturday afternoon at Vado Speedway Park (Vado, N.M.) for the 17th annual Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout.
With the event drawing 48 Late Models, Beard qualified 13th-fastest before finishing sixth in his heat race. Forced to transfer to the feature through a B-Main, Kyle made up one position in his consolation race to earn the 20th-starting position in the $10,000 main event. Beard was scored 20th on the final rundown.
On Sunday, Kyle finished one spot out of a transfer in his heat to start on the front row of the first B-Main. Beard recorded a DNF after getting caught up in an incident on the initial start which cut down a tire, ending his night early.
