Beard records two Top-10's in Comp Cams opening weekend
Kyle Beard entered his Gary Beard Trucking No. 86 Late Model into battle on Friday afternoon with the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) at Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, La.) as the series kicked off the 2023 campaign with the fourth annual Ronny Adams Memorial.
Out of 41 Late Models, Beard timed in second-quick before racing to a heat race victory. In the $5,000-to-win feature, Beard quickly jumped to runner-up position before getting caught up in a tangle with a lap car that forced him to restart at the back of the pack. From there, Kyle charged from the rear to finish just inside the Top-10 in tenth.
On Saturday, Kyle received quick-time honors before sprinting to another heat race victory. Rolling off from the front row for the $10,000-to-win feature, Beard ran inside the Top-5 for much of the 40-lap feature but faded to seventh when the checkered flag flew.
