Kyle Beard begins 2020 season at Arizona Speedway

Kyle Beard made the 21-hour trek to FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Ariz.) on Saturday afternoon to kick off the 2021 season with the 15th annual Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout. Drawing a stout field of 57 Late Models for the six-round miniseries, Kyle came in 12th fastest in his time trial group before grabbing the third and final transfer spot in his heat race. With $5,000 on the line in the feature, Beard clawed forward two positions in the 40-lap affair to register a 16th-place outing.

For another $5,000-to-win A-Main on Sunday afternoon, Beard was an early retire from his heat race on the sixth lap, transferring him to the tail of his B-Main. Needing a third place finish or better to make the show, Kyle passed 12 cars to finish seventh but fell short of a transfer position.
