Kyle Beard treks West to Vado Speedway Park for 2024 opener

Kicking off his 2024 racing season early, Kyle Beard invaded Vado (N.M.) Speedway Park on Saturday afternoon for the first round of the 18th-annual Wild West Shootout.

With 44 Late Models signed in, Beard raced his way into the first feature of the week by nabbing the final transfer position in his B-Main. Rolling off 21st in the $11,000-to-win show, Kyle was an early retiree from the 40-lap feature and wound up 20th on the grid.

For another $11,000-to-win event on Sunday, Kyle picked it up in qualifying and transferred to the A-Main with a third-place run in his heat. Starting from the ninth-position, Beard slipped outside the Top-10 when the checkered flag flew with an 11th-place finish.
